Hey everyone, here is another awsome set of files from skip via the dented helmet website. These are Boba Fett's gauntlets, just about to put the first coats of resin on them. :D
Thanks Skip, put one coat of resin on so far, trying to decide the best way to fiberglass them and such. I think im probably going to fiberglass the inside of the rounded portion and just do a few coats of resin and bondo on the outside? Not sure what the best way to do them would be, Im open for any suggestions lol
I had to cut parts of the rounded part out. Allowing access into the detailed parts. ;) Do this carefully of course. ;) Then you can fibreglass the whole gauntlet. ;) Resin alone on those detailed parts wouldn't be enough.
Ahh okay, yeah that makes sense, thanks that helps alot. :D Glad I haven't done the inside with resin yet. Will have to try that on the jetpack too. I actually had to throw away the first one I made and tried to fiberglass, I cut it in half to fiberglass it without thinking about any warping that might happen /cry lol. Ohh well lesson learned and I think im going to use some of the plastic I ordered once it gets here instead of cardstock this next time to give it some added strength. Cutting out just a portion of the back of the jetpack will work alot better im sure. :D
Well, I love Star Wars and I love to work with my hands and make stuff so it was kind of inevitable that I would get to the point that I was making star wars props lol. Just starting to really get into Pepakura and other papercraft, loving it so far, hope eveyone enjoys seeing some of the things I'm working on. -Joe :D
I remember building a set of those for a buddy of mine. I was sorry to see them go. Looking forward to seeing how they turn out mate.
